Relax Before Your Session
Treat this time like meditation practice or self care routines. Enjoy a nice warm bath or shower to help you relax before you lie down for your Reiki treatment. Wear loose, non-restrictive clothing. Give yourself enough time to prepare and relax before the treatment starts (at least 30 minutes)
Create A Peaceful Environment
It is best to be at home or in a familiar environment for your
treatment session. Sit or lie down in your favorite space or on your bed if you feel like resting. Make the space comfortable with cushions and blankets. Use crystals, essential oils, candles or incense to create a nice relaxed atmosphere. You can even listen to some relaxing music.
Dedicate This Time For Yourself
Ensure you will not be disturbed and turn off your phone and electronic devices. Close your eyes and take several deep, slow breaths to relax. Tell yourself that you have nowhere else to be, just in the here and now. Bring your focus to the sounds around you, if thoughts, questions or ideas come into your mind, acknowledge them and then just let them go. If you feel your attention wander, just return to following your breath; inhaling and exhaling.
Receiving Reiki Energy Healing
State your intention to receive the healing energy being sent to you. Saying an affirmation before your session can help your mind accept the energy that's being transmitted to you, such as "I am open to receiving healing on a physical, emotional and mental level" or "I am open and ready to heal my mind, body and spirit at this time." Trust that whatever you need, is coming to you at the perfect time for you.
After Your Treatment
You may fall asleep during your treatment, this is perfectly normal. When you awaken or feel ready, take 3 really deep, slow long breaths to tell your body it's time to come back into the here and now. Take a moment to write down any thoughts or ideas that you had during the session. After your session, it's always best to drink a large glass of water when there has been a shift in your energy from the Reiki treatment. Take time to relax for the rest of your day or evening. Take note of anything that comes to mind. Reiki has a great way of showing you things that you are ready to address, or can even give you amazing ideas, clarity, and inspiration.
